About Newsies:
It's time to carry the banner on your stage with Disney's Newsies! Set in turn-of-the century New York City, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged "newsies." When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right!
Based on the 1992 motion picture and inspired by a true story, Newsies features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken (Little Shop of Horrors, Sister Act) and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (Kinky Boots). Featuring the now classic songs “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” and “Santa Fe,” Newsies is packed with non-stop thrills and a timeless message, perfect for the whole family and every audience.

Rehearsals:
Newsies cast will rehearse Tues/Thurs from 6 PM-8 PM, and Saturdays from 10 AM-2 PM.

This performance will be held at Kennewick High School Auditiorium
About James and the Giant Peach:
Based on one of Roald Dahl’s most poignantly quirky stories, Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach JR. is a brand new take on this "masterpeach" of a tale. Featuring a wickedly tuneful score and a witty and charming book, this adventurous musical about courage and self-discovery is destined to be a classic.
When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements along the way.
The possibilities for creative costuming and puppetry abound, and young actors will love playing the outlandish and larger-than-life human and insect characters.

JATGP cast will rehearse Mon/Wed from 6 PM-8 PM at The Arc of Tri Cities.

Performance:
This performance will be held at The Living Room Community Church.
Preparing for your audition:
Newsies is for ages 13- adult.
James and the Giant Peach Jr. is for ages 8-18.
Every auditioner will need to prepare 60 seconds of a musical theatre number, or a 60-second song and a 60-second monologue. We want to see your acting skills just as much as your singing skills. The audition will conclude with a dance portion, so dress comfortably and appropriately.
